Registry keys/entries of the "Default Indexed Paths" and "Default Excluded Paths" policies
HI Knowing that, if I insert some directory in the "Default Indexed Paths" and "Default Excluded Paths" policies of the "Group Policy for Windows Search" console, its are respectively stored in the HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search\DefaultIndexedPaths and HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search\DefaultExcludedPaths keys of the registry of Windows 7, I would like to know what are the registry keys/entries that I must add in order to activate and deactivate these policies having to apply these policies also in those editions of Windows 7 where the "Group Policy for Windows Search" console does not exist. You just need to add the following branches in “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search\CurrentPolicies”. DefaultExcludedPaths DefaultIndexedPaths Under each branch, add the string value, the name of the value should be the path you want to add.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Arthur Xie - MSFT So, the keys, that I must add to Windows 7 (valid for any edition), are: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search\DefaultIndexedPaths HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search\CurrentPolicies\DefaultIndexedPaths HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search\DefaultExcludedPaths HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search\CurrentPolicies\DefaultExcludedPaths Right? Do not need to add the key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search Just add the key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search\CurrentPolicies\Arthur Xie - MSFT
